IELTS on Computer
Discover the computer-delivered IELTS test — faster results, more dates, same test content.
What is Computer-Delivered IELTS?
Computer-delivered IELTS has the same content, format, and scoring as the paper-based test — the only difference is that you type your answers and read questions on a screen. The Speaking test is still conducted face-to-face with a certified examiner.
Key Benefits
Results are available in just 3–5 days instead of 13. Test sessions are available almost every day at participating centres, giving you much more flexibility in scheduling. The on-screen format includes helpful features like word count, copy-paste for Writing, and easy navigation between questions.
Test Interface
The test interface is clean and user-friendly. For Listening, you hear the audio through headphones in a quieter environment. For Reading, text and questions are displayed side-by-side on screen. For Writing, you type your responses with an automatic word counter. You can review and change your answers before time runs out.
Who Should Choose Computer-Delivered?
This format is ideal if you type faster than you write, if you need results quickly, or if the available paper-based dates don't suit your schedule. It's also great if you want to practice in a format similar to our online mock tests on IELTZ Prep.
Key Tips
- Practice typing at a comfortable speed before the test
- You do NOT get extra transfer time for Listening (answers are typed directly)
- Headphones provide a clearer audio experience than room speakers
- Our mock tests simulate the computer-delivered format exactly
